About Indrahar Pass Trek

The Indrahar Pass Trek is one of the easy to moderate treks in Himachal Pradesh. It starts from McLeodganj, which is the seat of Dalai Lama, to Triund at 2,875 meters. The Kangra Valley and the town of Dharamshala below may be seen magnificently from the trek to Triund via the villages of Dharamkot and Galu Devi. The Kangra Valley and the far-off Punjabi plains are shrouded in a blue haze to the south, and to the north, wave after wave of mountain ranges rise, including the Pir Panjal, Kishtwar, Bara Bangahal and Manimahesh. The trail descends further to Chhata, going over a black boulder and through an uncontrolled stream before emerging into a stunning valley covered with numerous varieties of wildflowers. The path snakes from Chhata to Kuarsi through Kuarsi Nala and branches off at Brehi on the way to Lamu and Donali. Brehi leads to Minikiani Lake, and the track passes through a dense forest via Drakund. After crossing the Minikiani Lake, the route passes through Kareri Lake and then to the camp at Kareri followed by the downhill trek to McLeodganj.
